Who is this ministry meant for?

Hope In Loss is a ministry for those who have lost a pregnancy, infant, or child in the womb, including but not limited to:

  • Miscarriage
  • Stillbirth
  • Ectopic Pregnancy
  • Perinatal Fatal Diagnosis
  • Newborn Death

If you have lost a pregnancy or child at any point from conception through infancy, in any way, we want to walk with you.

Is this a Catholic Ministry?

We are inspired by our Catholic faith, and supported by the Diocese of Des Moines.

Is this ministry only for Catholics?

No, this ministry is open to all grieving the loss of a pregnancy, infant, or child in the womb. Many of our resources come from a Catholic perspective, but we also share an promote secular and non-denominational resources and events, and believe that our resources can be useful regardless of religious background or affiliation.

Where is this ministry located?

Hope In Loss Des Moines is focused on serving the Diocese of Des Moines, Iowa, but we welcome visitors from all over to our site, Masses, retreats, and other events.

Is this ministry a part of the Diocese of Des Moines?

We are an independent ministry, supported by the Diocese of Des Moines, and operated by a board drawn from many walks of life, including those experienced with grief counseling, and those who have suffered a loss of their own. You can see who is on the board here.
